Silence. Emotion. Emptiness. Dynamics. Peace. Beauty.

Each of these keywords is something I try to capture in my photography. It doesn’t matter whether this is a portrait or a concert photograph or a beautiful landscape. For me. each photo also should be a registration of something that has happened without the photographer being detected and without the photographer taking control of the events. Of course there are some exceptions on this vision. Sometimes you have to give directions to get the best result.

While working I try to make use of the environment and its possibilities regarding space and light and positions. I want to deliver my own personal vision on the subject and with that in mind I would like to deliver photographs which are able to keep you looking at them and enjoy them for a very long time.

Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Photography has been my passion for the last 6 years. Combined it is huge. I’m curious for new bands and like to discover new music. Music is emotion. Artists show emotions on stage while performing. That is the moment I want to capture.  It doesn’t matter if it is in a dark place or in a beautiful lit concert venue as long as there is emotion!

For me photography is also about challenges! New assignments. New locations. New music. New people. They are all challenges and I am willing to accept them all. I’m convinced that everything and everyone can look great on photos. Even people who hate it when their photo is taken.

Most of my concert photographs are published at 3voor12/den haag. Some are also used on the national site of VPRO’s 3voor12. Furthermore I have work published at several national and local newspapers and internal magazines.
